Convert Files to JPG

This tutorial will cover the steps required to convert files to JPG format.  The originals will still be intact, a new copy will be created.  Some browsers (Netscape) can't display images if they're BMP or EMF/WMF format.  To make things easier on potential visitors to our site who may be browsing our images, we'll convert everything to jpg.

NOTE - These tutorials are based on version 1.5 of Batch Thumbs.  You can download a copy of Batch Thumbs version 1.5 at:

1. If it's not already running, start Batch Thumbs.  Start>Programs>HarmWare>Batch Thumbs

2. Click on the option in the lower left corner:  Rename, Copy or Convert Files.  In the File Types box, remove the *.jpg;*.jpeg; parts by hi-liting the text and pressing the Delete key on your keyboard.  This will show us all files that are NOT jpg format.

3. Use the Select All button to select all the files.  If you're using the Sample Images, there is a mix of bmp, gif, and emf files selected:
